WEEK 2 PREVIEW
Welcome to the easiest preview I've ever had to write for this pool. We always feature the divisional matchups for the week, so here they are:
...
........
Well, that was easy! For the first time since the beginning of the pool, there are no divisional matches this week. And since it's still so early in the season, there aren't any matches with any playoff implications. Not to say that these aren't important -- a win is still a win, and there's an excellent chance that when we get to the end of the season, we'll be looking at a result or two from this week as a tiebreaker for a wild card or a playoff seed position. But until then, we'll just roll with what we have in front of us.
So then, make sure you have your Week 2 pick submissions in by Friday night at 8:00 eastern -- enjoy, everyone!
Picks are in, and we have only one specialty match this week -- the Fighting Sporks/Brenda's Bulldogs contest will be our One-Hit Wonder Match of the Week. This one will be decided by the Dolphins/Texans game, with Fighting Sporks rooting for Miami and Brenda's Bulldogs backing Houston. The loser of this one will starting their season 0-2, so we have quite a bit on the line here.
And that'll do it for our shortest preview ever -- take a look at the finalized pick chart and check back on Sunday to see how things start to shape up. Good luck all!
WEEK 2 RESULTS
1:00 Games: Three in the books, as Ragesters, Schwantoes and Yellow Jackets crank out the wins.
4:00 Games: Many more done, with wins chalked up by Brenda's Bulldogs, Waterboys, Schleps, Bad Mice, Deesato, Why Not Zoidberg?, Horns (who got it done from his post-surgery hospital bed -- get well soon!) and Evil Squad Of Evil. Check the updated pick chart to see how things are looking.
8:30 Game: The Falcons smack down the Eagles, giving wins to Pigskin Palookas and Mike C, while sending Turf Toe and Monster Rain into a tie match. Two more left to be decided by tomorrow night's game -- check back after that to see how the week closes out.
Monday Night Football: A win by the Giants translates to wins for Big Blue and Lacie Belles as well -- nicely done, all!
A lot of good picking this week as three players went 15-of-16 -- but it was who also hit the MNF total score right on the money, separating him from the pack and giving him Player of the Week honors.
So that'll wrap things up for another week of the 1-On-1 Pool -- check the finalized pick chart, see how you look in the updated Standings and get a jump on getting your Week 3
picks submitted. Have a great week, everyone!
