It's first vs. last in the AFC South this week, as new division leader Horns is looking to stay on top, while Jr. Barnes is looking to shake off the stigma of being the only winless player in the league. He ran away with the #1 seed in the AFC, but since being knocked out of his first playoff match last year, Jr. Barnes has seen the wheels come off. If he wants to have any chance of sniffing a postseason bid this year, the rebound has to begin now. These two have split their season series the last two years.
With three wins currently being good enough to lead the AFC West, Better Name Pending and Big Blue aren't in bad shape despite being in 3rd and 4th place, respectively. With a one-win lead and coming off of a Player of the Week performance, Better Name Pending is definitely in better shape here to stay in contention. For his part, Big Blue is the one who came out on top when these two met head-to-head last season.
In the NFC North, Pigskin Palookas and Bassturds are both coming off of losses last week, and they're a combined 0-3 in divisional matches this year. Now one of them will get a much-needed boost back into divisional contention. Neither can take over the top spot this week, but a win here will be a big step in the right direction. These two are another pair who have split their season series the past two years.
And that's it for the divisional matches. Byes are still ongoing, and this week it's Mike C, StuB, Deesato, Hyena, Turf Toe and Secretly Victorious on the sidelines. We still need everyone to put in their picks, but these six won't be competing in an actual match this week.
Ok, that's about it for the early part of the preview. Picks are due in by 8:00 on Friday -- don't miss out!
Take a look at the updated pick chart and check back to see if the two no-shows can pul off a miracle comeback by getting a win with a Colts victory.
Four left coming down to MNF -- check back after then to see how the week wraps up.
Fighting Sporks was one of three players to hit on nine picks this week, but his score pick was the lowest on the board, giving him the Week 7 Player of the Week award (yes, Deesato had 10 correct picks, but since he was on a bye, his picks aren't eligible for PotW -- A Note On Bye Weeks from the FAQ).
And that'll wrap things up for another week of the 1-On-1 Pool. Check the finalized Results, see how you're doing in the Standings and get an early jump on your Week 8 picks. Have a great week, everyone!
