Well kick things off in the AFC North where last week's PotW, I Will Win It All, will try and hand Brenda's Bulldogs her first loss on the year. Both players had a rough time of it last season, both posting 6-10 records and finishing 2019 on a combined seven-match losing streak, but both look to be turning things around here. With Brenda's Bulldogs posting back-to-back solid wins, and I Will Win It All being the current total picks leader, this has the makings of a great early-season divisional matchup.
Over in the AFC South we have Hoodie's Hoodlums and StuB seeing heir first divisional action of the year -- and in fact this'll be the first in-conference match for each of them. Both have gotten off to slow starts, but with definite bright spots. Hoodie's Hoodlums picked up a nice opening week win, and while StuB is still looking for his first win on the year, both of his losses were very high-scoring close ones. The only thing standing in their way (besides each other) is the hot rookie start the division-leading Black And Blues Brothers is one.
A 1-1 start isn't optimal, but in the AFC West, it's a good as it gets. Both Indiana Jems and Lyle Alzado have started at .500, but since their two combined wins are all the victories the division has put up, it'll work. The winner of this one will find themselves sitting atop the division, but it's going to take someone here putting together a nice winning streak to have a good shot at wearing the crown at the end of the season.
Over in the NFC East we find long-time rivals Turf Toe and Bad Mice continuing to scrap it out. Bad Mice will be looking to defend his division title from last season, but he's going to have his hands full here. There was a time when these two were very evenly matches, splitting their season series nearly every year. But from Week 9 of 2015 through Week 7 of 2019, Turf Toe showed absolute domination, winning eight-straight in their series. Bad Mice snapped that streak in Week 16, a win that gave him the division crown, but if he wants to repeat that feat he'll have to starting making a winning streak of his own here.
All right, that's going to do it for this preview. Head on over and get your Week 3 picks submitted, and enjoy your week!
But not all of them! First up will be our Diverse Picks Match of the Week where rookie Black And Blues Brothers is looking to stay unbeaten. He's got very little in common with his opponent this week, as he and Green Bowl Tolkers went in different directions on nine of this week games.
Flipping that script, we have two Monday Night Madness Matches of the Week -- that's where the players pick every single game the same way, sending them to MNF score total before the week even gets under way. Both the Secretly Victorious/Vlad M and Rabid Ferrets/Mean Machine matches will be determined by the total score of the Cowboys/Eagles game.
Vlad M will win if the defense keeps the total to 47 or under, while Secretly Victorious is rooting for 48 or above. Meanwhile, the second match can end in a tie if the total is exactly 49, with Rabid Ferrets rooting for the over and Mean Machine hoping to keep the score low.
We also have a couple of One-Hit Wonder Matches of the Week, and as it happens, one of them will be settled on Monday Night as well! The only difference Pigskin Palookas and Heisendad have is Pigskin Palookas rooting for the Eagles and Heisendad looking to Dallas for the win.
Our second one-difference match is featuring Louisville Islands, who will be looking to the NY Giants to give them a win, and LV-426 Xenomorphs, who have it all riding on the Falcons this week.
All right, that'll wrap up a very extensive post-submission preview! You can see exactly who needs what on the full pick chart, and like every other Sunday throughout the season, local (aka, Jersey) folks are welcome to head on over to the Knights of Columbus in Brick where your commissioner will be slingin' drinks for a full day of football. Good luck everyone!
The pick chart has been updated, so check out how things are looking a take a look back to see who scores a win off the late Sunday game.
Six matches left heading into MNF -- check back after that one to see how the week wraps up.
A fantastic job by Alabama Slammers this week -- through the end of the 1:00 games, the average pick total was six, but he was able to post up nine right and only one wrong en route to a total of 13 picks on the week, enough to lock up this week's Player of the Week award.
And that'll wrap things up for another week around here -- check the finalized pick chart, see how you look in the Standings, and get a jump on your Week 4 picks submissions. Have a great week everyone!
